Preventing violence against women: a challenge for us all

Friday, March 7, 2014, a representative of GRADO Association participated to the debate “Preventing violence against women: a challenge for us all” organized by the European Parliament Information Office in Romania and the European Institute of Romania. The event is part of the events provided by the European Parliament in all Member States of the European Union to mark International Women’s Day and to highlight the importance that the EU attaches to promoting the role of women in society.

Gender equality is one of the key values of the European Parliament. Violence against women is a form of discrimination based on gender and one of the most sensitive issues of gender inequality. In this debate, EU parliamentarians, representatives of public institutions and non-governmental organizations active in this area were invited to express their views on violence against women.
