Brave Women Awards 2014

On April 10, 2014, the US Embassy in Bucharest organized the awards “Brave women”.

The 2014 Winners were designated: Lya Benjamin – Distinguished Historian, Ana Blandiana – Poet and anti-Communist dissident, Ondine Gheorghe – investigative journalist, Viorica Marincas – Chief Inspector, Police Inspectorate Maramures, Felicia Ienculescu-Popovici – entrepreneur and environmentalist.

Essay Human Rights in 2014, from peace at home peace in the world: Stop violence against women:

  • st place: Ioana Cristina Teodorescu,  “St. Sava” National College
  • 2nd place: Irina Alaci,  “George Calinescu” High School
  • 3rd place: Oana Daniela Dumitru,  “Tudor Vianu” National College of Informatics.

US Embassy proposal for Romania 2014 International Prize “Courageous woman” was: Laura Kovesi – Procuror Director.

The event was attended by a representative of GRADO.
