Developing programs for community work
On October the 8th 2013, in the Criminal Section of Neamt Court, a working meeting organized by the Criminal Justice Reform Foundation in partnership with the Probation Service from Neamt County was held held. The main theme was to develop programs for community service and represented a new stage of the project “Contribution to the implementation of criminal law in Romania“, conducted in partnership with GRADO, Transcena Association, Criminal Justice Reform Foundation, the National Probation Directorate within the Ministry of Justice and the National Administration of Penitentiaries, with the financial support of the Open Society Institute. Magistrates from the Criminal Section of the Court, judges who settled criminal cases and probation counselors were invited. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss a set of minimum standards for community service programs and to plan testing these standards, viewing the new criminal legislation in 2014. The agenda included the presentation of the project, the new regulatory framework for the community service enforcement and the estimatation of its impact. The debate was completed with discussions regarding the minimum standards and procedures for community service programs.
