Fighting Domestic Violence – a priority assumed and debated with the Romanian society

The public debate was attended by representatives of the civil society, representatives of the relevant institutions and members of Parliament.
The speakers referred to the legislative amendment to be promoted and adopted in order to harmonize the national legislation with the provisions of the Council of Europe Convention on Preventing and Combating Violence against Women and Domestic Violence. Speakers also discussed ways to increase victim protection beyond changing the legislation in force.
